S+S detection and separation systems are used for the protection of machines in the manufacturing and processing industries to achieve uninterrupted processes and maximum productivity. In some branches it is even more decisive that these systems contribute to optimal product quality: In the food and pharmaceutical industry metallic contaminations in the product might have devastating consequences.
Tool and Machinery Protection - Increased production security and optimum machine utilisation
In plastics processing S+S metal detectors and separators are primarily employed to protect processing machinery. They help prevent breakdowns and therefore increase productivity and continuity, providing a very fast return on investment.
Quality Assurance - Minimum rejected product and maximum added value
S+S metal detection and separation systems guarantee the purity of plastics products and play a vital role in the quality assurance process. Metal contaminants can block hot channels and cause rejects through under-injection. Metal separation systems prevent this and guarantee first class products
PROTECTOR metal separation systems remove magnetic and non-magnetic metal impurities (steel, stainless steel, aluminium etc) from standing or slow-moving columns of bulk material. They are installed directly above the material infeed of injection moulding machines.
The overall height of the PROTECTOR makes it one of the smallest metal separators on the market. It is equipped with S+S' unique patented reject device which temporarily creates a vacuum (Venturi nozzle) to divert contaminated material.
Avantages
• Compact design (aluminium block) enables additional equipment such as heavy conveyor, mixing or dosing machines to be attached to the unit
• Effective and reliable removal of contaminants even with high proportions of regranulate
• Contaminants beginning from a size of 0,3 mm are removed
• Consistent detection and removal of metal particles from free-falling material not only at the initial fill but also at subsequent top-ups
Metal separator for free-fall applications
Typically applied in gutter-pipes, at belt interchange points and underneath cyclones, or funnels.
Product Description
The RAPID 4000-FS metal separator is used to inspect bulk goods under free-fall conditions. It detects all magnetic and non-magnetic metal contaminations (steel, stainless steel, aluminium) – even when enclosed in the product. Metal contaminations are rejected through the “Quick Flap” reject unit.
The RAPID 4000-FS is used mainly in industries with low hygiene
applications.
Tunnel metal detectors (rectangular)
Tunnel metal detectors (with rectangular divisable or closed aperture) are for the inspection of poured, or bulk material, on conveyers, chutes, or vibratory feeders.
Product Description
GLS closed aperture, tunnel metal detectors are equipped with digital technology and used for inspecting bulk materials or individually packaged product on belt conveyors, material slides or vibratory conveyors.
GLS metal detection systems detect all ferrous and non-ferrous metals (steel, stainless steel, aluminium etc ), even those which may be contained in the product. If metal is detected a signal is sent to the process controller or the reject unit is activated.
The enclosed type of construction ensures that very high sensitivity is achieved throughout the entire tunnel area. For this reason the GLS range is highly suited to precise applications in the food industry.
The size of the detector is dependent upon application, conveyor belt width and product height.
Advantages
Inline magnet for injection moulding machines, extruders, and blow moulding machines
Product Description
The SAFEMAG inline magnet was developed specifically for applications in the plastics industry. It is designed for inspecting different granulates up to a grain size of 6-8 mm at a temperature of up to 100°C in standing or slow-moving material columns.
Advantages
The outstanding advantages of this magnet separator are its especially flat (60 mm) and sturdy design and its excellent magnetic power.
With its special design the SAFEMAG does not allow any depositing of plastic granulate (which is important in case of a colour or material change).
By way of adaptor plates the SAFEMAG magnet system can be easily integrated in all kinds of systems.
Inline magnets provide an effective means for a thorough separation of metals containing lead particles from powdered and granular free flowing bulk materials.
Product description
MAGBOX inline magnets are mainly installed in existing pipeline systems to remove fine and very fine ferrous metal contaminants from bulk materials.
Advantage
Powerful magnets remove even low magnetised stainless steel particles from the product flow.
EASY CLEAN option ensures the separator is quickly and effectively cleaned.
